About Sew, La, Tea

Empowering people of all ages to find their creative outlet

Dorothy Pino went to college near Los Angeles, and she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2009 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2012. After teaching in public schools for over a decade, she left the classroom to pursue her own music career, and to teach sewing, music, and painting classes in small group settings. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others, as she understands the importance and value of expressing yourself through your art.

Musician, Artist, Sewist

Dorothy performs jazz flute around town and plays guitar/sings in her rock band, THE MEOWZAS.

Dorothy spent her summer breaks going to paint and sip classes when she was teaching full time. She took private lessons as well, and enjoys creating custom paintings for special occasion parties.

Dorothy has been sewing for almost 20 years, and enjoys making dresses, stuffed animals, paper pieced quilts, and costumes! Sewing Classes will be taught at City Sewing Room (6700 Arsenal) until Summer 2024, when our Brick and Mortar Shop opens (hopefully on Cherokee St.)
