Dorothy Pino
Flute and Woodwind Player
Dorothy has been playing the flute since she was nine years old. Soon after, she picked up other woodwind instruments under the guidance of her elementary band teacher, Joe Sandoval. By the time she finished elementary school, she already played 10 instruments and wanted to follow in Mr. Sandoval's shoes to become a band teacher one day.
After going to college and earning at Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching, Dorothy taught for 12 years in public education as a high school and elementary school band teacher, and as a general music teacher in grades ECE-12.

In 2013, she met Keith Oxman, a Denver-based jazz saxophonist. She worked with him at East High School in Denver for 4 years, and during that time, he taught her a lot about jazz improvisation. Though she still loves classical music, her performance focus has been geared to jazz flute ever since.

Now that Dorothy lives in St. Louis, MO, where she performs around town. She had her CD release of "Pino Noir" in January of 2022.
Modern Rock Band
Singer-Songwriter, guitarist
During high school, Dorothy started playing the guitar. Since then, she has also learned how to play ukulele, piano, bass guitar, and basic drumming techniques. She uses Little Kid Rock's philosophy of Music as a Second Language in her teaching, and reaches students by letting them have a voice and choice in the music they want to learn.
Dorothy has been writing songs since she was a teenager, and is currently working on recording a pop-punk album with her friend in Denver. She enjoys creating lyrics, chord progressions, and melodies to express herself. She wants others to be able to utilize song-writing as a mode of self-expression as well.
